JazziDisciples biography: history, members, awards, songs, style of music

JazziDisciples is an amapiano Disk Jockey and producer duo which hails from South Africa. The Duo consists of two fast-rising record producers Mr JazziQ (Tumelo Manyoni) and Josiah De Disciple (Josiah Makoela).


Two members formed the music group JazziDisciples and they hail from Alexandra, North of Johannesburg.

They developed an interest in music from a very early age. Making waves in the South African entertainment industry with their style of music.


They have dropped several hit songs including Long Lasting and Sgubu Se Monati among others. They are famous for their tagline “Amapiano is a Lifestyle”.

Since they started doing music together, the duo has held performances at notable events and festivals.

They have performed at Afropunk Festival, Corona SunSets Festival, and YTKO 32 Hour Fest, among others.

Together, they shared the stage with big names in the South African entertainment scene.

Black Coffee and Cassper Nyovest are big names the duo has worked with. They have made notable appearances on several shows also including Lockdown House Party on Channel O.

It is worth mentioning that JazziDisciples has also made notable appearances on television and radio. The duo has also appeared on various lounge and club appearances.

In November 2019, they dropped their debut studio album and titled it Disciples of Piano.

The album featured many notable local personalities in South Africa. Vigro Deep, Nomisupasta, DJ Buckz, and Okmalumkoolkat.

The effort they have put into making good music has been recognized. They received a nomination for the Best Amapiano record at the 2019 Dance Music Awards South Africa.

To serve the duo’s expansion purpose, they decided to go solo in 2020.

Kicking off with the solo project plan, JazzDisciples dropped Mr Jazzi’s EP titled 0303 in March 2020. Moonchild Sanelly was a featured vocalist.

In May, Josiah De Disciple’s EP followed and was titled SOM (Spirits of Makoela).

Style of Music

Together they introduce dance music that contains elements of afro house, house, and world music.

They combine live instruments like saxophones, flute, bass, keyboards, percussions, and others vocals with samplers, effects, and synths.


The duo is made of two record producers and each has his specialty and how he contributes to its success.
