The country seems to be welcoming polygamy with open arms as men who marry more than one wife are celebrated.
The former president of South Africa Jacob Zuma is also a celebrated polygamist. Lucky Gumbi is making waves for being able to husband two women.
Lately, he saw himself making headlines after he paid R260,000 for the bridal shower of his wife. Social media users couldn’t help but poured out their views on the mining magnate’s lavish lifestyle.
Apart from being a polygamist, Lucky is a businessperson and has earned a lot of money from mining.
The reality television star called DJ Tira arrogant and self-centered in a scene on the SABC 1 TV show The Gumbis.
The musician couldn’t wave it off quietly but responded saying that he couldn’t recall meeting Lucky at any moment.

Yea! Everyone knows him as a reality television star on the SABC 1 serial The Gumbis. He is also a notable businessperson in South Africa. Lucky is into coal transportation and construction businesses.
A few years ago, in 2018, the streets of social media were buzzing following the amount he spent on his wife’s bridal shower. Lucky paid a total of R260k for the about to wed party.
Hosting a wedding ceremony that cost him R4m, Lucky Gumbi got married to his second wife Nombuso Malinga Gumbi. The wedding took place in December 2018.

Lucky Gumbi’s first wife is Bayede Cebekhulu Gumbi is 31 years old. His second wife is 25 years old and is younger than the first by six years.

Owning a house in Richards Bay and Balito, 40km north of Durban, Lucky mentioned that he did not become a polygamist to become a father of many children. However, he also mentioned that he is “okay” with the four he has so far.
Even after being a husband of two wives, he is caught up in some controversy. Allegations were made on social media following the announcement of his show.
A follower claimed that Lucky was dating a girl who was fifteen/sixteen years old. The user further condemned his personality for being celebrated.
This man is pushing 40 and is notorious for dating 15/16 year olds. It’s wild that there is space for people like this to be celebrated.
The same user who seemed to be prepared to tarnish his image left another post. In another post claimed that Lucky was having an affair with a fifteen-year-old.
Upon confronting Lucky, he gave the reply that he won’t leave your young relative alone, she is delicious.

The businessman was quick to refute all the allegations. The producer of the show had to explain that Lucky was not aware of the posts about him. He only knew when it was brought to his attention by The Citizen.
The mining magnate has decided to pursue legal action against the user. According to Sean McCollet, the producer of the show, Lucky will file a case of defamation.
Although no charges were laid against him, he wants to take legal action against the false and defamatory statements.
